The SoleSisters – plus 1 (our friend Lisa), met up in Cumming, GA for the Peach Jam Half Marathon (http://www.dirtyspokes.com/georgia-peachjam-half-marathon/ ) on 4/16/16. The night before, we ate our usual pizza pre-race meal and got everything set out for Saturday morning. Because the race was located close to the hotel, we didn’t have to get up too early – that is always a bonus in our book! The weather was perfect for the race. We drove out, got our packets and then headed to the start line. There we met a fellow 100 Half Marathons Club member/50 States Half Marathon Club member, Ali. We took a few photos and waited for the race to begin. The race took place on the Big Creek Greenway where we all struggled with the amount of concrete; but other than that we just took it easy and enjoyed our time together. Since we were all hurting a bit, we did not stick around after the race for long and left shortly after finishing; only to find out later that Sue finished 2nd in her age group!!
The rest of the weekend was filled with relaxation, refueling, and more planning of races and fundraising.
We have some exciting events coming up over the next year. Once they are set in stone, we will be sure to tell you all about them. So stay tuned!
Our big news of the week is that we have teamed up with Bravelets! Check them out. Super great ideas for Mother’s Day, birthdays, graduation gifts or a just because you deserve it!
Next up – Rhonda runs Race 13.1 Knoxville on May 1. Come out and cheer her on!
